National Junior Honor Society

Requirements for Hurricane Middle School’s Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society

* Must be a current 7th or 8th grader at Hurricane Middle

* Must have a 3.85 GPA for the previous three semesters

* Must have attended Hurricane Middle for at least one semester (Even after a semester, it will be necessary to refer to the student’s transcript and discipline records from his/her former school.)

* Leadership – has held leadership positions inside or outside of the school environment during his/her middle school years

* Service – has participated in service projects at school or in the community during his/her middle school years

* Character – has consistently exemplified positive qualities of behavior and complied with school rules during his/her middle school years

* School Activities – has participated in school-based activities such as clubs, teams, or musical groups during his/her middle school years

* Community – has participated in community activities outside of the school environment such as performing arts, religious groups, or Scouts during his/her middle school years
